The Advanced K9 Skills Course is a modular training program designed to enhance the operational capabilities of experienced K9 teams. Instruction is built around three core areas: SWAT K9 integration, K9 tactical combat casualty care, and rope operations/obstacle negotiation, which can be delivered individually or combined based on the needs of the agency.

Training Modules
Tactical Operations
The SWAT K9 integration module focuses on incorporating the K9 team into tactical operations. Training emphasizes movement with a team, positioning, communication, and the effective deployment of the K9 during high-risk missions.
K9 Tactical Combat Casualty Care
The K9 tactical combat casualty care module prepares handlers to provide immediate medical care to their K9 in emergencies. Instruction covers assessment, stabilization, and treatment techniques relevant to operational environments.
Obstacle Negotiation
The rope operations and obstacle negotiation module develops the handler’s ability to safely move with a K9 through complex terrain and structures. Training includes negotiating obstacles, working at height, and maintaining control of the K9 in challenging environments.
